Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Hometown Throwdown #13
House of Blues, Boston
12/26/2010-12/28/2010

Night 1, 12/26/2010

Night 1's opening was a choral group, The Dickens. It was a bit strange at first but when the crowd figured out they were singing 'Shipping up to Boston' it became ok. Then they did 'Blanta Clause is Coming to Town' and we were all sold on them.

Night 2, 12/27/2010

Night 2's opening was Lenny Lashley doing a new holiday song. Lenny is a great guy and I wasn't sure to believe him when he told me during night 1 that he was opening for night 2, but there he is.

night 2 opening. You have to wait like 1:30 before the curtain drops and the band comes on.

Night 3, 12/28/2010

Night 3's opening was the remaining Dogmatics and the Dickens singing, "Christmas Time (it Sure Don't Feel Like)." It was a nice nod to the old school punks. Paul from the Dogmatics was killed when a motorcycle he was riding had a tire blow out.

After the concert, since it ws the last night, they dismantledthe Santa/Blanta wall, the band each signed every one and we got to take them home. Its a pretty awesome souvenir, but not easy to store since they are like 5 feet tall.
