10:02: Sun is working in the garden and hears something weird. Jack shows up and offers help. Turns out he's been looking for her. He wants to play Doctor, make sure she'd OK. He's acting like Ethan. A Sun backstory begins.
10:03: Sun meets a crazy lady wielding threats of shame and humiliation.
10:04: The parachutist isn't dead, and she's mumbling that she's dying. (Thank god Hurley informed me it was spanish.)
10:07: They're eight hours from the Doctor. Hurley finds and fires a flare.
10:11: Jin's father is not what we thought.
10:12: Sun is suspicious of Jack's pregnancy questions so Kate fills her in on the Claire story. Sun is pissed, confronts Juliette. She asks all the right questions, gets told all the children die.
10:15: Now the parachutist is speaking chinese. Desmond wants to go for help and the dead russian shows up instead. WTF? I guess he was just mostly dead.
10:20: Jin chases down the Russian and Desmond holds him at gunpoint.
10:22: Now the parachutist is speaking italian. (There's a reebocks-in-ben-hur moment here unless they chased the russian in a circle.) The russian offers medical help to save the parachutist but only if they keep it secret and let him go when he's finished.
10:24: Sun is watching Claire and remembering meeting Jin's father. He looks like the fisherman we all thought he was. He guesses who she is.
10:25: Why weren't you at the wedding? Why would Jin say his father was dead? Same reason Jin was told his Mom was dead. The truth is too shameful. She was slutty, Jin's paternity is questionable.
10:27: Juliette runs a con on Sun, who is skeptical but frightened enough to be persuaded she could use a check-up from Dr. Evil.
10:30: Sun and Juliette head for the Ultrsound machine. If Sun conceived before the crash she's OK, if it happened on the island it's a death sentence for her and the baby.
10:33: Sun asks for favor of 100k from her dad to pay off the blackmailer and protect against the threat of Jin's secrets exposed. Dad wants an explanation but she refuses. He gives her the money but says her husband must work it off. She takes it with a nasty look.
10:35: The russian wants to know who the girl is and what she brought. Her lungs are collapsing. Totally nasty. This is why I don't watch ER. She is saved and recovers and speaks in russian, we guess. He translates, she said "Thank you," but I don't think we're supposed to believe him.
10:37: Juliette cracks the hatch. Sun should have a few more questions, 'What's that logo anyway?" but Nahh. She is creeped out enough to asks why Juliette is "helping" her. That's one way to put it. Juliette offers up a sob story about how she's tired of giving people bad news. Kind of Cheesy. Suddenly, Sun completely trusts Juliette and fesses up her adultry. (That will be used against her later.) The sharing helps her embrace the ultrasound procedure. Odd that she's abandoned all suspicion.
10:39 Holy hidden baby hospital posh-itude. Why is this room hidden? Sun asks. Good question. IT'S WHERE WE BROUGHT THE WOMEN TO DIE. That was cold!
10:40: The Russian says the parachutist will heal quickly because of the island. He leaves and Jin chases him. Turns out, the russian stole the iphone. Jin rules. Charlie wants to keep the prisoner. Desmond idiotically insists "We gave him our word." Charlie thinks he's ka-ka.
10:45: The ultrsound will reveal when Sun conceived and the baby's paternity. Sun is in a lose-lose situation. The baby will survive only if it isn't Jin's.
10:46: Jin finds the blackmail money. She says it's for the honeymoon. He is insulted and doesn't understand she's doing it for him, - not to undermine his provider status. Didn't they already have a similar plotline - maybe in reverse? Jin asks her to return the money.
10:48: Sun's baby is strong. They crashed 90 days ago. The baby is 53 days old. Sun got pregnant on the island. Jin's sperm works and Sun and the baby are screwed. (If Juliette is to be believed.)
10:53: Sun pays the extortion. It's Jin's slutty mother. Sun has a threat of her own and a powerful family to back it up. Don't make the story that you're dead a reality.
10:54: Sun wants to know when she'll die. No one makes it to the third trimester. She has two months. She says she is happy the baby is Jin's and tells Juliette she gave her good news. Juliette says she's going back to make sure their tracks are covered. That smells fishy. Sun says Thanks and takes off. Who's waiting for her? Ah, no one!
Juliette records some kind of message for Ben, confirming Sun's pregnancy and Jin's healed sterility. She'll get samples from the other women and report back. "I hate you," she says.
10:57: The parachutist wants to know where she is. Hugo wants to know if she's looking for the Flight 815 survivors. She says Flight 815 was found and there were no survivors. That was unexpected. Should we assume they haven't been found simply because no one's been looking?
10:59: Next week: Locke's back and he's kidnapped Ben and wants him killed?
Hectic.
I read a Lost episode play-by-play on tmz every week, so I wrote my own:
10:02: Why don't you take them in your van, Hurley?
10:03: Charlie takes it. This is why we watch Lost.
10:04: What's next? Maybe a panda?
10:07: Now Desmond's a monk?
10:08: Meanwhile, back at the batcave...
10:11: Whatever.
10:12: Sawyer and Kate. Why are you wearing a bra?
10:12: Doc saw us doing it on tv? Sweeeet!
10:15: Desmond will take a chance with Charlie's life if it means Penny can pay a visit. Everyone is rotten.
10:20: Desmond has very shiny blood.
10:22: Jack's having dessert with Juliette? I'm going to go have sex with Sawyer. She really is! She even said, "Shut up and don't talk!"
10:29: I have no idea what's going on? It hurts. Was that a helicopter? A sub? What was that? What do they think is in the water? Look! In the sky? What? What is it? What the?
10:31: Someone jumped?
10:33: Desmond's a selfish dick.
10:35: Greater calling. Give me a break.
10:37: Jack and Sawyer flexing their pongs.
10:39: Charlie knows Penny?
10:39: Sawyer made her a mixed tape. Phil Collins? It's like a kick in the gut. JR!
10:45: Uh oh. It's raining.
10:48: The fired monk has a messiah complex.
10:50: Well, that worked out. Charlie's fine.
10:54: Pointless.
10:55: Cut her down already.
10:59: Penny isn't stupid. She sent someone else in.
Coming attractions look good, but then they always do.
I'm glad everyone's angry imus made those racist remarks, but I sure wish someone would notice he also used the word ho. Isn't sexism as offensive as racism?
Was it in any way appropriate to suggest these women are prostitutes? While we're at it, shouldn't it be wrong to demonize prostitutes? Why is it so important to criticize, criminalize and punish women for sexual behavior?
there's patriarchy everywhere, pay attention
