Lollapalooza is nolollapaloza
Below is an excerp from Mtv.com's interview with P. Farrell. It is interesting to note that Moveon.org was going to be a major presence at Lollapalooza and the suits pull the plug. Most of the Lollapalooza sites are Clear Channel shed's and the Clear Channel folks is big Bush people. Lollapalooza headliner Morrissey has wished Bush dead on stage. It all seems fishy. Call Michael Moore.
"Traditionally, 60 percent of the tickets sold for a stop on the Vans Warped Tour, for example, occur six days prior to the show. Those responsible for Lollapalooza's cancellation, however, didn't have faith that the tour would follow that pattern, or even the one Lolla set last year.
'Last year, walk-ups very much improved our final counts, and this year, we felt walk-ups were even more important. One reason is that with the economy in such a poor state, people don't cast their money that far into the future. Rather, they spend their money much closer to showtime,' Farrell said.
'Last year, we sold out many of our shows and played to 20-25,000 people at times. This year, we never got a chance to launch our marketing or the bulk of our press campaign. Our campaign was beautiful and strong. We had aligned with MoveOn.org. We were set to reach out to millions of young voters. We were cut off.'"

role model for the masses
Tony's Danza's portrayal of 'Tony' on Who's The Boss was a revelation to me as a younger man. Ever since the show ran all I want is to marry a rich chick from Conn. who wants me to cook and clean the house. Not to bash the 'home engineer' trade, but its gotta be better than coming in to this office and slowly dying each day.
Out on DVD now: Season 1. I recommend it for any male who thinks he wants to be a white collar slave the rest of his life. Forget about it, learn to cook.

June 3, 30 year anniversary
Sorry this is late. I usually try to remember Michael Gaughan on the anniversary of his death. We have the same name and come from the same family, but I am not named after him, its only coincidence.
Michael Gaughan was killed while on hunger strike. On 3rd June, 1974, he died from injuries suffered when food lodged in a lung punctured by a feeding tube.
He left the follwoing as his final statement.
"I die proudly for my country and in the hope that my death will be sufficient to obtain the demands of my comrades. Let there be no bitterness on my behalf, but a determination to achieve the new Ireland for which I gladly die. My loyalty and confidence is to the IRA and let those of you who are left carry on the work and finish the fight."
